Lawn Core Aeration

Aeration involves perforating and removing plugs of soil to allow air, water, fertilizer, and nutrients to reach the grass root system. This helps the roots to develop and grow deeper and produce a stronger, more vigorous lawn. Core aeration is a regular lawn maintenance service that we provide during spring and fall to help lawns to better thrive in our harsh weather conditions. Core aeration or just aeration should be done at least once a year, either spring or fall and should include an overseeding application to help grow newer grass in your lawn.

Aeration relieves soil compaction that occurs naturally or from normal foot traffic. Hot summers, disease, and drought take a toll on lawns, fall aeration is an important part of the repair process.

Aeration Details

Core aeration equipment

We only use professional commercial equipment, we use stand on and walk behind aerators, and their usage depends on your yard size and accessibility. Our core aeration machine delivers 9 plugs per sq ft and 3 ½” cores. Yard size is not an issue for us, our machines can aerate 80,000 square feet per hour.

Core aeration schedule

We provide aeration services during spring starting mid March to mid June, and fall starting September to mid November. We encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment!

To prepare your lawn for aeration, please mark your sprinklers heads, underground wires, electric fence, or any area that you do not want aerated. Mow your lawn short 1 – 2 days before your aeration services for better results.

Aeration extra services

We highly encourage customers to have their lawn overseed and/or fertilized after aeration. This combination of services will increase your lawn density, color, and overall health.

Aeration together with overseeding and fertilizer promote a denser, greener lawn.
